Lifting in the Cod End On ‘Condowan’ (1980) | Photographer: Nick Hedges | Mounted and Framed
“Most of the boats that fish from Shields have crews of three for four men. The nets are usually hauled in 2 or 3 times during each day’s fishing, with waiting time between 2 and a half and 4 hours between casting and hauling in the nets (depending on weather conditions and fishing prospects this pattern can be altered).”
